The organization was set up in 1975 to purchase the closed Cloonagh National School as a focal point and meeting place for the residents of the 6 townlands that made up the catchment for the school, Cloonagh, Coolraver, Curracunane, Cully, Sargura, and Cloonaughil. The format changed to a Guarantee company in 2004. The School was converted into a community center and provides a meeting place for card games, family gatherings, underage playgroup, etc. The center actively promotes environmental and heritage issues and works closely with the local handball committee to provide sporting and leisure events.
