Hi I’m Hannah Gilroy,
I live in Enniscrone and I am very keen to expand rural community engagement and development.
I have been involved in community participation projects all of my working life starting as a volunteer myself before gaining paid employment working to support other volunteers to find training, experience and fulfilment. I have worked alongside the young, and the not so young who have had diverse life experiences and differing challenges.
All through life I have found using good organisational skills beneficial, whether it be shopping lists, choir rotas, concert scheduling or how to respond to queries and write funding bids.
I love my local town and spend a lot of time taking part in all that I can, as a disabled person that is challenging, but with passion, all things are possible.
Dr. John Williams FAMLS, MBA, PhD I am 66 and retired. I was: Pathology manager at Sligo University Hospital (SUH) On the Hospital Executive Committee Founder member and chair of the Research and Education Foundation at SUH Set up and chaired the Research Advisory Committee at SUH; one of my roles included adjudication on grant applications Set up the SUH research ethics committee and chaired for 8 years Advisor to RIQAS international QA scheme (the largest such scheme in the world) for over 20 years Served on the Health Research Board’s multidisciplinary research grants awarding committee On course evaluation committees in ATU Sligo, ATU Galway, MTU Cork, University of Galway, DIT, University of Ulster, Coleraine I now lead a team establishing better collaborative research between SUH, ATU Sligo and University of Galway. I believe in the Leader “Bottom up” approach to supporting communities and I know my experience will further this philosophy.
