Love Is A Stranger – Juniper Barn 2024 Love Is A Stranger is a new intimate one day/night music & arts event, running on May 18th/19th, situated in the beautiful setting of Juniper Barn, Ballymote, Co. Sligo from the makers of Another Love Story. Another Love Story design and run boutique music & arts festivals and events which fostered a genuine community of artists and attendees over the last decade, and is run by a duo of engaged arts and community focused professionals – Emmet Condon (Homebeat), Sam Bishop (Street Feast/Neighbourhood Network) Both, in their own way, are creating space for art and community to grow in a distinctly informal and open space, and each bringing their own singular passions to bear on the events they run, be it music and the arts in general, or a focus on community building or the environment. ‘Love Is A Stranger (LIAS) – Juniper Bar’ takes all of these influences and inputs and brings it to a new destination in the North West of Ireland, where a strong creative community continues to galvanise and grow, and where we feel we can bring some of the magic of what we offer and do to add to the rich fabric of that creative community. We see this year as a starting point in a long relationship with the area, and a particularly interesting time to add to the festival landscape away from the traditional Dublin area base, and to surf on the wave of energy for creative communities who have moved from the capital and seek to reinvigorate the cultural landscape of rural Ireland. We expect that LIAS will give us a meaningful platform to fully engage in the local cultural community while also bringing a decade of creative links forged in creating Another Love Story since 2014, the event will also allow us to engage with the local employment pool, and of course to bring new and exciting life to the stunning Juniper Barn venue, and the surrounding area.
