St Lassaras (Ballinacarrow) Parent Association is the structure through which parents/guardians of our school can work together for the best possible education for our children in accordance with The Education Act, 1998. The PA activities include: – Practical support for parents – Training & information on moving our Children from Primary to Post Primary Education – Training for Supporting parents to support Children’s Mental Health – Recreational Activities e.g. Healthy Cookery Demo – Information on Local Kids Clubs for Children looking for a pastime/hobby or for new families trying to integrate into new surroundings – Work with the principal and Board of Management on policy issues and incidents that may require a review of school policy, e.g. Bullying, Safety, Homework, Enrolment, Behaviour problems etc. – Invite speakers to address the parents on issues which are topical or relevant e.g. Nutrition, Cardiac First Response, Bullying, Cyber Safety, etc – Work with the principal, staff and the board of management to build effective partnership of home and school – encourage greater communication between parents/guardians and the school. – encourage parental involvement in the education of the children – assist in providing for the needs of the school that are not addressed by state funds through fundraising activities to provide
