The Tree Plaques celebrate the stories and science of Sligo’s trees in a lasting and creative way. Each plaque can be printed onto wood, showing both the scientific details and the cultural stories of the trees. One side of the plaque highlights the tree’s features and biodiversity, while the other captures its folklore, uses, and significance in Irish heritage. These plaques are ideal for schools, community groups, or anyone who wants to display and celebrate the richness of our trees.
Click on a tree name below to expand and download the plaque files. Each download includes both sides of the plaque, ready to print onto wood. The files are available in JPEG format. If you require a PNG version, please contact Dr Yvonne Lang.
This project is part of the Community Climate Action Programme Strand 2 and is funded by the Government of Ireland through the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment.
