Easy Treesie

Easy Treesie has a mission to plant one million native trees with Ireland’s one million school children and their communities. There are some very informative videos available on the practical elements of planting a tree.

100 million Trees Project

The 100 Million Trees Project which aims to see the planting of 100 million native Irish trees across the island of Ireland to reverse the immense environmental damage caused by the reduction of forests worldwide and the loss of huge areas of biodiversity. There is a wonderful series of videos available on the website providing information on our native trees.

The Woodlands of Ireland have some useful resources on the practical elements of growing Ireland’s native trees.

This Guide to Ireland’s Native Woodlands was first published in 2012, and is a very enjoyable read as you begin exploring our native woodlands.

Where can I learn more about funding for woodlands and forests?

Teagasc

The forestry section of the Teagasc website provides information and advice in relation to farm forestry and grants.

Some grants of interest to community groups include the Native Tree Area Scheme, Forests on Public Lands, NeighbourWoods, and Agroforestry.

This project is part of the Community Climate Action Programme Strand 2 and is funded by the Government of Ireland through the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications.
